Client Spotlight: “Grandma Judy”

“Grandma Judy”

JUDY STENOVICH

Judy grew up in Napa and moved to Santa Cruz in 1965 with her first husband Bill Domhoff, (whom she later divorced), and raised 4 children, two girls, and two boys. A domestic engineer, Judy remains an active participant in all of her children, and grandchildren’s lives, they are clearly the apple of her eye. Judy later remarried in the late ’70s to John Stenovich. In the ’80s, Judy went into business with three wise women who became collectively known as “The Ladies”. This lead to the purchase of the Capitola Book Cafe, which would go on to inspire lives and educate minds for over 15 years. Judy stays up on current events and believes in engaging the political process. In addition to staying “woke” Judy enjoys playing scrabble with family and friends, pre-COVID, she is a sun worshipper and enjoys any outdoor activity especially walking.

Although many of Judy’s hobbies and interests have been impacted by her Parkinson’s diagnosis in 2014, she would like to thank Safe at Home, Care Coordinator Ellena, and Caregivers for their individualized care. The addition of Safe at Home has both empowered Judy and increased her independence ensuring that this remarkable woman continues to do what she does best and then some.
