As a family-run business, we tailor care not only to the client’s needs, but also to the needs of their family. We strive to create long-term matches between caregivers and clients, providing stability, familiarity, and continuity of care. In many cases, caregivers work closely with the same family for years.
As care needs change, experienced caregivers often help train new team members, ensuring that a client’s preferences, routines, and wishes—communicated earlier in their care journey—continue to be honored.

Our Story
Safe at Home Senior Care was founded in 2006 by Steve Glenn on the principles of dignity, respect, and compassion.
Before starting Safe at Home, Steve founded Oceanside Supported Living, a sister company serving individuals with support needs. Through that work, he began receiving frequent calls from families looking for reliable in-home care for seniors—services that were limited and difficult to find at the time. Seeing a growing need in the community, he created Safe at Home Senior Care to help seniors remain safely in their homes with professional, compassionate support.
Today, we remain a locally owned, family-run business dedicated to serving the Santa Cruz community.

Our mission is to help seniors live safely in their own homes for as long as possible.
We believe every person deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of age, disability, or limitations. Our caregivers support independence while providing the assistance needed with daily living, including meal preparation, errands, personal care, and medication reminders.
We understand how overwhelming it can be to find care for a loved one, and we’re committed to being a trusted partner for both seniors and their families.
